2010: Meeting to be
held in Gatineau
The organizing
Committee had appointed the dates of the July 16,17 and 18, 2010.
And the activity was in the Hotel Four Points by Sheraton (35
Laurier St.) of Gatineau. Approximately 75 people attended this 22e
meeting of the members of our Association. The majority were satisfied of the gathering. The program was
applied as envisaged. Especially it allowed the obligatory annual
general meeting, according to the law of incorporation. Also, on this
occasion, the board of directors could give a report on its annual
activities (meetings - financial statements - future projects). For
the general meeting, only 29 people assisted, we have 26 new members
of this year. the new
board of administrators is:: Robert D., Guy Charpentier, Hébert Dufour,
Emile Dufour, Francoise Dufour, Jacynthe Dufour, Marie-Paule Dufour,
Vincent Savard, Yolande Hovington, Huguette Dufour, André Dufour,
Bernadette Gauvreau Dufour, and Réjeanne Dufour He is thus as for
the continual and essential update of the files (returned of new data
- research, additions and corrections - preparations of new archives
book) The meeting of
last July 17 also made known the historical sources of the important
lines : Gabriel-Robert Dufour, Claude Dufour, Pierre Dufour said
Bonvivant and Jean Dufour said Brind'amour. All our researches, as
well historical as genealogical, are compiled in a book of 650 pages
(8.5 X 11) sold 60$ (more 15$ of handling charges in postal sending). Finally it
was the problem of new members: it IS NECESSARY
to increase the number of members. Considering ageing
impossible to circumvent, it is urgent that young and interested
members appear. Communicate
with the secretary: 10$ per year, It's little!! Make out your cheque

Report of the Meeting 2009 :
In Alma, area
of Saguenay - Lac Saint Jean, on May 23 and 24, 2009, this 21th
meeting of the Association of the Dufour Families. This one was
founded in this same place on September 16, 1989. At the same time,
The members celebrated the 75 years of marriage of the couple Jean-Baptiste
Dufour and Simone Larouche, married on July 4, 1934 in the church of
St-Michel, Mistassini. Also Jean-Baptiste and Simone were surrounded by
several of their children and grandchildren. Robert Dufour chaired the
celebration. The
general assembly of some hundred allowed members heard
the reports of the president, of the secretary - treasurer and of the
archivist. Then, after one period of time for discussing various
questions, of which the membership of the Federations of the old Families
and the Web site of the Association, it was possible for the members to
elect the board of directors. From the seven members at the end of the
mandate, five requested a renewal: Emile, Marie-Paule, Robert, Vincent
Savard and Yolande Hovington. For replacing Gerard and Henri, which did
not want to accept an other mandate, the assembly choiced Réjeanne
and Jacynthe.

Adhesion of members

…. it is not a good policy to dispatch the bulletin to ex-members who
did not pay since 2004,2005 and 2006. It is wasted time and money. This
policy is expensive and ineffective… It is at most thinkable for the
latecomers of 2007, and still! " "
How to join the latecomers of 2004, of 2005, of 2006 and also of 2007? …
the only means which is likely to be effective is the personal contact,
which wants to say, in practice, a phone call. It should be made to know
the opinion of these ex-members. (and their intentions)… they are not
any more interested (or) they plan to return to the
Association." "
Such a task should not rest on the shoulders of only one person. The
current members of the board of directors, the ex-administrators and a
certain number of ordinary members should be invited to make such calls.
(If each one wanted) to call five members (l' entourage or of the family)
which forgot association, In this way, association will be able to come
into contact with many former members without it being too heavy for each
people." What
